Oranjezicht is situated on the slopes of Table Mountain nestled between the city centre and city bowl suburbs of Vredehoek and Gardens.  A mix of stately old Victorian homes, Deco apartment blocks and modern mansions create an eclectic look unique to Oranjezicht and surrounds.

Being quite high up the slopes of the mountain, Oranjezicht also boasts beautiful views.  Slackers be warned though - this suburb might be walking distance from the city centre, but if you do not have transport you will need calves of steel in order to survive the path back up the Everest type hills.  Throw in a good measure of the famous Southeaster wind that whips most of the city bowl in the Summer months and you might very well be blown right back to square one!

If you’re staying in Oranjezicht, this is the perfect place to stroll to for breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning and if you’re on holiday you can go every day of the week seeing as every day feels like Sunday anyway.  There is seating inside, but much nicer on a hot Summer’s day is to grab a table on the street level verandah and watch the world go by.
