Separated from the city bowl by the stretch of national park connecting Table Mountain and Lion’s Head you will find the affluent suburb of Camps Bay, meandering down the back slopes of Table Mountain all the way to the ocean. The palm tree lined beach at Camps Bay is one of Cape Town’s most popular and boasts spectacular views of Lion’s Head and the Twelve Apostles mountain range.
At sundown, most beach goers will head across the road where a myriad of bars and restaurants await with exotic cocktails and people alike. In the Summertime bars and restaurants spill onto the street, each with their own lounge DJ to get you relaxed after a long stressful day of surf and sun.
So if you prefer the laid back vibe of a beach town (albeit a very exclusive beach town with some of the highest valued real estate in the Cape) but don’t want to stray too far from the city then Camps Bay is definitely for you. With the ocean on your doorstep, the city centre a mere 10 minutes away and the white sand havens of Clifton and Llundudno right next door, life really is a beach.

We like Dizzy’s because it’s completely different to to all the other places on the beach boulevard. Don’t worry about high heels and collared shirts in this place folks. Just come as you are and enjoy the music. The restaurant has a very reasonably priced menu and serves mostly pub fare like burgers, pizzas and salads. Next door to the restaurant is the pub area which hosts regular live music evenings as well as a karaoke night once a week.
